Hyderabad: Sigma Advanced Systems announced it has secured an export order worth USD 11.4 mn (Rs.107 crore) from a customer in North America to supply Filled Fuzes for the 155mm artillery shells.

The contract is to be executed over a ten-month period and the order marks a significant step in the company’s evolution as it deepens its presence in the global defence manufacturing ecosystem.  The company said the order is being executed through its in-house capabilities and the product has been developed leveraging its deep Build-to-Spec expertise.

The 155 mm artillery shell is among the most widely deployed artillery munitions globally, with demand increasing significantly in recent years amid evolving geopolitical dynamics and heightened defence preparedness across multiple regions.

Known for their reliability and versatility, 155 mm munitions are compatible with a broad range of artillery gun systems currently in service worldwide. The order pertains to Point Detonating M557 Filled Fuzes, a critical component of 155 mm artillery ammunition.

Sunil Kalidindi, CEO & ED, Sigma Advanced Systems, said, “This order marks a significant milestone for Sigma Advanced Systems and reflects the growing global confidence in Indian defence manufacturing capabilities.”
