Hyderabad beat Saurashtra by three wickets in women’s one-day tie

Hyderabad registered a three-wicket win over Saurashtra in the BCCI Senior Women’s One-Day Championship in Ranchi, with Vanka Pooja scoring 60, while HUCC recorded a massive win in the HCA B-Division league and Pooja was named U-23 captain.

Hyderabad:  Hyderabad recorded a three-wicket win against Saurashtra in the BCCI Senior women’s one-day cricket championship seventh round match in Ranchi on Wednesday.

Batting first, Saurashtra scored 213 for six in 50 overs with P. Ayushi (53) being the top-scorer.


In reply, Hyderabad romped home with Vanka Pooja (60) being the main scorer.

The scores: Saurashtra 213/6 in 50 overs (R. Riddhi 32, P. Ayushi 53, N. Chavda 33 no) lost to Hyderabad 214/7 in 50 overs (Vanka Pooja 60, K. Niteesha 48, N. Chavda 3/25).

Big win for HUCC

HUCC recorded a thumping 416-run win against Sri Chakra in the HCA B-Division two-day league cricket championship here on Wednesday.

The scores: HUCC 536/6 decl in 84 overs bt Sri Chakra 120 in 31.2 overs (Rithik Reddy 42, D. Sri Charan Chowdary 4/39).

Vanka Pooja to lead

Hyderabad under-23 team

Vanka Pooja will lead Hyderabad in the BCCI Women’s (under-23) one-day cricket championship matches to be held in Dehradun from March 3 to 11.

The team: Vanka Pooja (capt), K. Niteesha (vice-captain), G. Trisha, Sandhya Gora, S. Yashasri, M. Mamatha (wk), Drithi Kesari, E. Srujana, Prathiksha Venkatesh, M. Sakshi Rao, E. Darshini (wk), P. Akshaya Reddy, Akanksha Semwal, P. Sri Chendanaa and B. Keerthana.

Stand-byes: N. Kranthi Reddy, Jazmine Gill, P. Parvathi, S. Mithra, D. Pranavi Yadav.
