Hyderabad: Biker run over by lorry on the way to idol immersion

Vanam Sudhakar Reddy alias Bunny (18) was going along with his friends to a tank at Rajendranagar for the immersion of the idol

Hyderabad: An 18-year-old boy, who was taking part in a procession to immerse goddess Durga idol in a tank, died in a road accident at Chandrayangutta early on Tuesday.

Vanam Sudhakar Reddy alias Bunny (18) was going along with his friends to a tank at Rajendranagar for the immersion of the idol. Sudhakar along with two of his friends riding pillion, riding the scooter closely following the auto-rickshaw which was carrying the idol.

“As both the vehicles were bumper to bumper, when the auto driver applied sudden brakes, Sudhakar Reddy lost the control of the bike and fell on the road. Then, a lorry, which was coming from behind the bike, ran over Sudhakar, killing him on the spot,” said K Goverdhan Reddy, Sub-inspector, Chandrayangutta.
