Hyderabad: The body of an unidentified man was found floating in the Musi River near the dump yard in Amberpet on Thursday.
Police are investigating whether he accidentally fell into the river at some other spot and came floating to the spot. Cable wires around his neck have raised suspicion over his death.
Local residents alerted the Amberpet police, who shifted the body to the hospital for autopsy.
The CLUES team examined the spot. “He appears to be a construction worker. It is yet to be ascertained if he accidentally fell in the river and died or if he was killed and his body disposed of in the river,” the police said, adding that a case was booked and an investigation was on.
