Hyderabad: The body of a female infant was found in a cluster of bushes in Jawaharharnagar on Sunday, triggering concern in the locality.

According to Jawaharnagar police, the body was spotted in a deserted area near the Hanuman Temple in Yapral.

A local resident, identified as Shivakumar, alerted the police after noticing the child lying motionless in the bushes.

Police who reached the spot observed visible injuries on the child’s face, abdomen, and mouth. The infant is believed to be around one-and-a-half years old.

At the time of discovery, she was wearing a red T-shirt, track pants, and a winter jacket.

The Jawaharharnagar police have started investigating to establish the identity of the child and the circumstances leading to her death.

Treating the case as suspicious, investigators are examining all possible angles and collecting evidence to determine whether foul play was involved.
