Hyderabad: Boiler explodes at Medchal factory, one worker injured

A boiler exploded at Alkaloids Bio-actives Pvt Ltd in Medchal, injuring a worker named Srinivas Reddy. He suffered burns and other injuries after hot steam and debris fell on him. He is being treated at a nearby hospital. Police are investigating

Hyderabad: A worker was injured when the boiler at Alkaloids Bio-actives Private Limited located at the industrial area in Medchal on the city outskirts exploded on Tuesday afternoon.

Police suspect the explosion occurred due to overheating and extreme pressure in it.

Due to the impact of the explosion, steam and hot water reportedly fell on Srinivas Reddy, an operator. The wall of the boiler section was also damaged, and a part of it fell on him.

As a result, he suffered injuries on his face and other parts of his body. His co-workers, who noticed him immediately, shifted him to a nearby hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. He is kept under observation.

The Medchal police are investigating.
