Hyderabad: Panic prevailed at the Decathlon Sports store near the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and surrounding areas on Monday, after an unidentified person made a bomb threat call.
Police said the caller, suspected to be a youngster, said he had planted a bomb inside the store and warned that if the store owner did not pay Rs.1 crore, he would detonate the bomb with a remote. The staff immediately informed the RGIA police, who rushed to the spot and carried out checks with the bomb disposal squad.
The store owner, staff and customers heaved a sigh of relief when police confirmed that there was no bomb after extensive checks.
