Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a five-year-old boy died and his father was injured, when the bike they were riding on was hit by a rashly driven bike at Thurkapally on the city outskirts in Yadadri on Monday night.
The victim, identified as V Abhiram and his father V Dev, both residents of Bommalaramaram, were proceeding on Dev’s bike towards Thurkapally, when the mishap occurred.
Police said when Dev and Abhiram reached near Gogulagutta thanda in Thurkapally, a bike allegedly driven in a wrong side by one Hussain Khan, hit them in a head-on collision.
“Abhiram, who was riding pillion on the bike, fell off the bike and died on the spot due to grievous injuries. His father escaped with injuries,” officials said.
On receiving information, the Thurkapally police reached the spot and shifted the injured to the hospital. The body was shifted to the Bhongir Government Hospital and handed over to the family after an autopsy on Tuesday.
