Hyderabad: A family celebration turned tragic when a 10-year-old boy reportedly drowned in a swimming pool during a wedding sangeet ceremony at a resort in Moinabad on Monday evening.
The incident occurred at a resort in Aziznagar, where a family from Baghlingampally had gathered for a relative’s sangeet.
As per information available, while the event was underway, the child, identified as Surya Prakash Singh, entered the swimming pool along with other children who had also come for the celebrations and reportedly drowned while playing.
Family members rushed him to a private hospital near Amdapur crossroads, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The Moinabad police reached the resort after receiving information but found that the organisers and family members had already left.
It is said that no complaint had been filed by the family or the resort management so far.
Meanwhile, soon after the incident, resort authorities reportedly closed the main gates and restricted entry to outsiders.
