Hyderabad boy tops Eamcet, 75pc qualify

Hyderabad: Sai Teja Varanasi from Hyderabad secured the first rank in the TS Eamcet 2020 engineering stream. He obtained 147.2905 marks in the test while his combined score is 93.3757.
The results were announced by Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad (JNTU-H) here on Tuesday.
Kapelli Yashwanth Sai of West Godavari and Thammanaboina Mani Venkata Krishna of East Godavari secured the second and third rank respectively. Similarly, Chagari Koushal Kumar Reddy and Hardik Rajpal, both from Hyderabad, got fourth and fifth rank respectively. Rajpal had secured sixth rank in the Joint Entrance Examination-Advanced.
This year, a total of 1,43,326 candidates had registered, of which 1,19,183 appeared for the entrance test and 89,734 candidates qualified, translating the qualifying percentage to 75.29 per cent. Candidates can download their rank cards from http://eamcet.tsche.ac.in.
Meanwhile, the JNTU-H is making arrangements for conducting TS Eamcet (engineering stream) for candidates who had tested Covid positive earlier. The exam will be held on October 8. The university is planning to grant affiliation to engineering colleges in two or three days.
