Hyderabad: BTech student dies by suicide at women’s hostel in Shaikpet
An 18-year-old BTech student died by suicide at a women’s hostel in Shaikpet on Monday. Her father alleged that hostel management had reprimanded her after she questioned the quality of food served there. Police are investigating the circumstances.

Hyderabad: An 18-year-old BTech student died by suicide at a women’s hostel in Shaikpet on Monday.
The victim was identified as K Kalpana, a native of Peruru village in Mahabubnagar district, who was staying in Hyderabad and pursuing BTech at a local college.
According to police, Kalpana was found hanging inside her room by hostel staff. Her father, Ramanjaneyulu, lodged a complaint with the police, alleging that the hostel management had recently reprimanded his daughter after she questioned them about the poor-quality food being served at the hostel.
He alleged that the incident caused her mental distress and contributed to her decision to die by suicide.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
