Hyderabad: The Meerpet police nabbed a burglar involved in several cases and recovered gold, silver, a bike, gadgets and other material, altogether worth Rs 43 lakh here on Saturday.

The arrested person is Syed Sahil (23), a used car seller from Shaheen Nagar in Chandrayangutta. The absconding person is Syed Mohammed.

According to the police, the duo is involved in burglaries and robberies in Hyderabad and Rachakonda Police Commissionerates. They were arrested and remanded in judicial custody earlier and were released in December 2021. They committed eight offences since January this year.

“They did recce of secluded residential colonies and broke into locked houses and looted them,” said an official.

They further mortgage the gold at gold shops or financial institutions. Efforts are on to nab Syed Mohammed.
