A Hyderabad-based businessman Moturi Srinivas Prasad has donated a golden sword weighing 5 kg and estimated worth between Rs 1 crore to Rs 1.8 crore to Lord Venkateswara deity in Tirumala on Monday.
According to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams officials, the sword is crafted with 2 kg of gold and 3 kg silver. The chairman and managing director of Nandan Cleantec PLC, Prasad, visited the temple along with his family, and handed over his offering to TTD Additional Executive Officer AV Dharma Reddy at Ranganayakula Mandapam.
He took a vow to donate a golden sword to Lord Venkateswara and was able to finally fulfill it on Monday. The golden sword was made specially at Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu.
