Hyderabad: The Malkajgiri Commissionerate Police have registered a case against boxer Purvik Munugapati for allegedly promoting and attempting to organize an unauthorized fighting event under the banner of ‘Brutal Fight Club.’

According to officials, the event, branded as “Season 1 – Series 2,” was proposed to be held in Saroornagar and had been widely promoted on social media platforms. Investigators found that promotional content continued to circulate online despite authorities denying permission for the event.

Sources said the organisers had recently approached Saroornagar police seeking approval to conduct the programme. However, permission was reportedly refused due to concerns over safety, law and order, and the nature of the street level combat activities planned during the event.

Following the continued online promotion of the event, the Malkajgiri Cybercrime police registered a case and took up investigation.

Officials are examining whether any legal provisions were violated and if similar events had been organized in the past without authorisation.

Police have warned that public events involving physical combat require prior approvals and adherence to safety regulations.
Strict action will be taken against unauthorised activities that could endanger participants and spectators, they said.
