Hyderabad: A bike-borne offender snatched a cash-filled bag from a 65-year-old man moments after he stepped out of a private bank in Ashok Nagar on Thursday evening, triggering a sense of panic in the surroundings.

According to the police, Venkateshwara Rao, a retired employee of Kakatiya Cement and a resident of Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar, had withdrawn cash of Rs 2.5 lakh from the bank and was returning to his parked car when the assailant suddenly rode up from behind, grabbed the bag, and fled from the spot.

Following the complaint, the Domalguda police have registered a case and are analysing CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the suspect and nab him.
