Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS) has booked a cheating case against six persons for allegedly duping atleast 27 job aspirants to the tune of Rs 5.05 crore promising to provide UK Tier-2 work visas and employment in London.

According to information available, the prime suspect, Mohd Shahid, who is based in London, allegedly operated the racket through associates in Hyderabad. The fraud came to light after victims alleged they were promised jobs in the healthcare, IT and construction sectors, along with assured work permits and visa processing.

The complainant, Mohd Ayub, an accountant from Saidabad, was introduced to Shahid through his acquaintance Syed Ghouse. Ayub, his brother Mujtaba, and 27 others reportedly transferred a total of Rs 5.05 crore to bank accounts specified by Shahid between 2022 and 2025.

To gain the confidence of job aspirants, Shahid allegedly arranged for three individuals, Ilyas Pasha, Mohd Rasheed and Raziyuddin, to travel to London through his Hyderabad-based agents. However, they allegedly did not receive the promised jobs and returned to India after waiting for several months.

When they confronted Shahid, he along with his associates including Afsa Jabeen, Mohd Naseeruddin, Sadiq Mohammed, Rifa Tanzeen and Nasreen Begum threatened them.

Based on the complaint, CCS police registered a case and are investigating.
