Hyderabad: Chain snatcher arrested within hours in Abid Road
A nurse in Hyderabad’s Abid area was attacked in a chain-snatching incident on Wednesday evening. Using CCTV and technical evidence, the police swiftly arrested the suspect, Mohd Salman Pasha, with the North Zone Task Force assisting in the operation.

Hyderabad: A chain snatching incident, which was reported under the Abid Road police station limits, was cracked within hours, with police arresting the snatcher swiftly on Wednesday.
According to police officials, the complainant, who works as a nurse at a private hospital on Chapel Road in Abid area, was returning to her hostel on Wednesday evening after completing her duty. At that time, a young man approached her on a motorcycle and snatched her gold chain weighing around 2.5 tolas from her neck and fled. The woman suffered minor injuries while trying to resist the attacker.
On receiving the complaint, the Abid Road police visited the spot and a special team began scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to trace the suspect.
Based on technical evidence and surveillance inputs, the suspect, identified as Mohd Salman Pasha, a resident of Yakutpura, was caught for the offence late evening.
Police alerted other stations and task force teams, following which the North Zone Task Force apprehended the suspect. He was later handed over to Abid Road police for further investigation.
