Hyderabad: Chandrayangutta police arrests gang trying to sell newborn
Prime suspect Mehdi Ali, took the photograph of the child and circulated it in a WhatsApp group of brokers.
Hyderabad: A ten member gang who were allegedly trying to sell a newborn was arrested by the Chandrayangutta police on Monday.
The arrested are Shaik Ismail, Sulthana Begum, Mehdi Ali, Fathima Rehmath, Syed Imtiaz, Najma Begum, Feroz Khan, Sayeeda Shaik, Nafeez Begum and Sayeeda Begum.
According to the police, the prime suspect Mehdi Ali, encouraged a couple Shaik Ismail and his wife Sultana Begum to sell their newborn boy to a childless couple. The couple agreed to sell the baby for Rs. 2.5 lakh.
“Mehdi then took the photograph of the child and circulated it in a WhatsApp group of brokers. On information, they were caught,” said Y V S Sudheendra, DCP Task Force.
