Hyderabad: The City Police aim to bring down the immersion time of each idol by four to five minutes at Tank Bund this year. City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said an experiment was done at Tank Bund wherein, using thermocol or empty drums, a buoyant force was created and the idol was immersed in the water without human interference.
“The entire procedure from crane to immersion will be without human interference. It will save between four and six minutes for each idol,” he said, adding that earlier, an automatic hook release system was being used.
