Hyderabad: Hyderabad-based Sow & Reap Agro Private Limited has earned carbon credits certified by the Gold Standard for its sustainable paddy cultivation project.
The company has achieved 37,405 carbon credits for its project ‘VARRI’ — a sustainable paddy cultivation program using the Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) method — in collaboration with Kosher Climate.
Over the last three years, Sow\&Reap partnered with 35,000 farmers across Jagitial, Karimnagar, Mahbubnagar, Nagar Kurnool, Narayanpet, Peddapalli, Rajanna Sircilla, and Wanaparthy districts. The initiative covered nearly one lakh acres, helping farmers improve paddy yields, reduce water consumption, lower fertiliser usage, and cut greenhouse gas emissions, the company claimed.
