Hyderabad comes up with new initiatives to enrol voters

Hyderabad: As part of the exercise to enrol new voters and strengthen the electoral rolls (voter list), the district election authority, Hyderabad has come up with a series of initiatives.
These include announcements at religious places including temples, mosques and churches, enrollment of eligible college students by coordinating with educational institutions, door-to-door surveys and special campaigns. These will be taken up besides publicity in media, radio and on social media platforms.
The exercise will be taken up under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities that will be held in 15 Assembly segments of Hyderabad district. The district election authority in a press note appealed to all the voters of 15 Assembly constituencies of Hyderabad District to check their names/ polling stations in the electoral rolls. The draft electoral rolls (draft voter list) has been uploaded in https://ceotelangana.nic.in/.
If there were any corrections that need to be made including name, address, age etc, people should approach the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) concerned. Requests for new enrolments, claims and objections can also be made online by logging into https://www.nvsp.in/.
Inclusion of names for residents electors (new enrolment) can be done by selecting Form 6 in the website, correction of entries by Form 8 and for transposition within assembly Form 8 A needs to be selected. Inclusion of names for overseas electors can be done using Form 6 A and for any objection to the inclusion of names, Form 7 should be selected.
“Applications pertaining to new enrolments, claims and objections will also be accepted in the special campaign scheduled on December 27 and 28,” said GHMC in a press release. Meanwhile, Shashank Goel, Chief Electoral Officer,Telangana conducted a special review meeting on Wednesday with the 15 EROs of Hyderabad district. Navin Mittal, Commissioner of Collegiate and Technical Education, GHMC Commissioner DS Lokesh Kumar, GHMC Additional Commissioner of Election wing S Pankaja and other officials attended the meeting.
