Hyderabad: Conman changes his looks to cheat women; booked
The Gachibowli police is on the lookout for a conman who has a habit of changing his looks by sporting new wigs, and has cheated more than 40 women in the past few years.
Hyderabad: The Gachibowli police is on the lookout for a conman who has a habit of changing his looks by sporting new wigs, and has cheated more than 40 women in the past few years.
Recently, the con artist managed to convince a woman doctor and her family from Hyderabad by promising marriage. He swindled Rs 50 lakh from her family on the pretext of wedding expenditure and gifts. Needless to say, the fraudster has disappeared the moment he received money from her family.
The suspect Vamshi Krishna utilized make-up and different hair pieces to click his profile pictures and post them in different matrimonial sites, in the hope of getting attention from women. The suspect, who is from Hyderabad, is already married and is a parent of two children.
In matrimony websites, Vamshi claimed to be interested in women, in order to get closer to them. Further, expressing his interest to get married, he meets woman and her family as per formalities. He also finalizes wedding dates. However, eventually, he collects valuables gifts and money from the woman’s family on the pretext of wedding expenses and other reasons and eventually goes absconding.
His frauds came to light after the woman doctor from the city approached the Gachibowli police. “It is alleged that he has cheated nearly 40 women in similar way in the past and was arrested. He continued cheating after being released from the jail”
The Gachibowli police are investigating.
