Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police, starting January 1, have implemented revised guidelines for the registration and investigation of cybercrime cases.
Accordingly, financial loss up to Rs 1.5 lakh will now be registered and investigated by the local police within the respective jurisdiction, while for financial loss above Rs 1.5 lakh, cases will be booked and investigated exclusively by the Cybercrime Police Station, Cyberabad.
For cybercrimes with no financial implications, cases will be registered at the jurisdiction police station. These changes aim to streamline the investigation process, ensuring faster resolution of cases and optimal utilisation of resources to combat cybercrime effectively, police officials said.
