Hyderabad: Two constables from the Narayanguda police station on Monday won kudos when they reached out to a man, who had collapsed on the roadside, and shifted him to a hospital.

The two policemen, Sumith and Ram Prasad, who were attached to one of the patrol mobiles of the Narayanguda police, got a call from local residents, alerting that one person had collapsed on the road and was in urgent need of help. The duo rushed to the spot and found the elderly man in shabby clothes lying on the roadside.

Finding that he was weak and without food for quite some time, the constables first offered him a glass of Glucon D and some food. He was later shifted to the Osmania General Hospital where he is undergoing treatment. The police said the man earned his livelihood by seeking alms and was living on the pavement in Narayanguda.
