Hyderabad: Court awards death penalty for 2011 Sanathnagar murder
A Hyderabad court sentenced Karan Singh alias Kamma Singh to death for murdering a woman in Sanathnagar in July 2011. Police investigation led to his arrest in August 2011, and the court found him guilty after a full trial.
Hyderabad: A local court in Hyderabad on Monday pronounced a death sentence to a man for killing a woman at Sanathnagar 15 years ago.
The man, Karan Singh alias Kamma Singh (35), a blacksmith, a native of Karnataka, on 11 July 2011, took the woman to a secluded place on the eastern side of Bharathnagar flyover and later killed her brutally.
On a complaint, the then Inspector of Police G Baswa Reddy registered a case and started an investigation. The police finally identified the suspect as Karan Singh and on 11 August 2011, arrested him. He was remanded.
After the trial, the court found him guilty and awarded a death sentence.
