Hyderabad: Court orders 10 years’ jail for murder-for-gain in Miyapur

A local court sentenced Mohd Irfan to 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment and Rs 1000 fine in a 2014 Miyapur murder-for-gain case. Irfan killed P Jagdish after a money demand and fled with cash and a mobile phone.

Hyderabad: A local court sentenced a man to rigorous imprisonment for 10 years along with a fine of Rs 1000 in a murder-for-gain case reported at Miyapur police station limits in 2014.

The convict, Mohd Irfan (34) from Jagadgirigutta, had demanded money from the victim, P Jagdish, and when he refused, Irfan stabbed him to death with a sharp weapon near Bolaram X Road in Miyapur. He then fled with cash of Rs 200 and a mobile phone from the victim.


The Miyapur police registered a case and arrested Irfan.
