Hyderabad: A 77-year-old person who reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 committed suicide by jumping from the second floor of a corporate hospital in Kondapur here on Sunday. The victim, Narayana is suspected to have been depressed for some time for which he was also undergoing treatment, police said. On January 13, he tested positive for Covid-19 and was being treated in an isolation ward on the second floor of the hospital building.

“Narayana was not cooperating with the doctors and the hospital staff informed the same to his family too,” police said. On Sunday around 10 am, he jumped from the window of his ward. He was immediately shifted to the emergency in the hospital, where the doctors declared him dead. On receiving information, Madhapur police reached the spot and taken up the investigation. The body was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital morgue and was later handed over to the family.
