Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar, during his first video conference with officers from all wings on Saturday, announced the launch of an ‘Extra Mile Reward’ initiative to recognise police personnel who go beyond their duty with a humanitarian approach.
He praised the collective efforts of the force over the past six months and urged them to maintain professionalism, integrity, and public trust. “Outstanding officers will be honoured every week with certificates and rewards,” he said.
The Commissioner instructed all units to focus on making Hyderabad drug-free, ensure strict action in cases of harassment against women and children, and introduce new traffic management ideas to ease congestion.
He further warned that negligence and misconduct would not be tolerated, emphasising that respectful interaction with citizens helps build public confidence in the department.
Chiranjeevi meets Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar
Tollywood Megastar K Chiranjeevi paid a courtesy visit to VC Sajjanar, who recently assumed charge as Hyderabad Police Commissioner, at the latter’s office in TGICCC, Banjara Hills, on Saturday. The actor’s daughter K Sushmita was also present.
