Hyderabad: The Telangana Crime Investigation Department has arrested Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) President A Jagan Mohan Rao following a vigilance probe into allegations of irregularities in the sale of tickets during the IPL 2025 season.
The arrest follows an inquiry conducted by Director General Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy into allegations of intimidation, coercion, and blackmail over complimentary tickets and corporate boxes.
The Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH) had complained to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy about alleged intimidation by Jagan Mohan Rao regarding complimentary tickets and corporate boxes.
SRH further alleged that Jagan Mohan Rao locked the F3 corporate box, which was allocated to Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjiv Goenka, just hours before their IPL match on March 27, demanding 20 additional complimentary tickets.
Following SRH’s threat to relocate from Hyderabad, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy ordered a vigilance inquiry led by Director General Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy. The probe confirmed pressure tactics by Jagan Mohan Rao, leading to his arrest.
