Hyderabad cyber crime police arrest 117 in Operation Octopus raids
Hyderabad cyber crime police arrested 117 suspects during ‘Operation Octopus’ after conducting raids across 16 States in connection with 74 cybercrime cases. The accused were linked to over 1,081 cases nationwide, with fraud transactions worth around Rs. 139 crore.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad cyber-crime station, in February conducted ‘Operation Octopus’, and arrested 117 individuals after conducting raids in 16 different States in the country in connection with 74 cybercrime cases registered in Hyderabad.
The suspects were involved in 63 cases of trading and investment fraud, 6 digital arrest cases, 4 OTP fraud cases, and 1 social media case. A total amount of Rs. 34,76,884 was successfully refunded to the victims, said Additional Commissioner of Police, Crimes and SIT, M Srinivasulu.
The individuals were found to be involved in 1,081 cases across India, and their bank accounts recorded transactions amounting to around Rs. 139 crore.
The police seized Rs. 36 lakh in cash, 221 mobile phones, 26 laptops, 115 cheque books, 141 SIM cards, 54 debit cards, and other articles.
