Hyderabad Cybercrime cops refund Rs 1.4 crore to victims

The cybercrime fraudsters who were nabbed were involved in as many as 313 cases across India, officials said.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Cybercrime Unit officials have arrested a total of 24 persons from across the country for their involvement in various cybercrime cases including 53 cases in Telangana, and refunded Rs 1.4 crore to the victims in the month of April.

The cybercrime fraudsters who were nabbed were involved in as many as 313 cases across India, officials said.


The victims had lost huge money in stock trading, investment, FedEx frauds, OTP fraud, credit card fraud, customer care fraud and other 45 different cases in the month of April.

There is a possibility to get refund of at least part of the lost amount, if it is reported immediately, officials said.

Victims of such Cyber frauds can report immediately on the helpline number 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in.

Accused arrested state wise:

Delhi-11, Bihar-1, Madhya Pradesh-1, Maharastra-5, Uttar Pradesh-3, West Bengal-3.

Accused involvement in different cases state wise:

Andhra Pradesh 12 , Maharashtra – 43, Delhi -24, Harayana-6, Jharkhand -9, Karnataka -74, Odisha -12, Punjab-4, Tamil Nadu-29, Uttar Pradesh -20, West bengal-22, Rajasthan-8, Gujarat -14, Madhyapradesh-4, Mizoram -1, Puducherry-3, Kerala-10, Jammu& Kashmir -2, Bihar-2, Andaman & Nicobar -1, Uttarakand-1, Chattisgarh-10, Goa-2.
