Hyderabad: Three persons who duped a city-based man of Rs 19 crore on pretext of buying USDT were arrested by the Hyderabad Cybercrime police on Monday.

The police identified the arrested persons as Sushmim Shripati Gaikwad, Srikanth, and Lucky Choudhary.

According to the police, the conmen approached the victim earlier this year on pretext of buying USDT from him. On pretext of completing the deal, the conmen asked the victim to complete the KYC verification process on ‘trontag.org” website. “The website was actually a tool to hack into the bank accounts and transfer the money. When the victim filled information on the website, an amount of USDT 21, 04,089 was transferred from his account to the conman,” said DCP (cyber-crimes), V Aravind Babu.

The victim later approached the police, who registered a case and, based on certain clues gathered during investigation, identified and arrested three persons, including Choudhary, who had designed the ‘trontag.org’ website.
