Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Cybercrime police have booked a case against unknown persons who sent an email to the Board of Control for Cricket in India on behalf of the audit department alleging irregularities in Hyderabad Cricket Association.
In the complaint made by an official from the Accountant General’s Office – Hyderabad, it was stated that some persons sent an email to the BCCI with the signature of the audit department head of the AG’s Office, alleging that there were several irregularities in use of funds by the HCA.
BCCI officials called up AG’s Office officials to cross check its authenticity, following which the latter denied sending the mail and approached the police.
“A complaint was received and a case was booked. Investigation is on,” Cybercrime officials said.
