Hyderabad Cybercrime Police bring impersonation fraud accused from Patiala
Hyderabad Cybercrime Police have secured custody of Gaurav Kumar, alias Gora, from Patiala Central Prison in connection with an impersonation fraud. Kumar allegedly posed as Rahul Gandhi’s aide Kanishka Singh and duped several former MLA candidates across states, collecting Rs 3 crore and gold ornaments.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Cybercrime Police brought Gaurav Kumar alias Gora (45) from Patiala Central Prison on a transit warrant in an impersonation fraud case.
Police said Kumar posed as Kanishka Singh, a political aide to Rahul Gandhi, and contacted several former MLA candidates through WhatsApp, promising political positions and favours for money.
He allegedly collected around Rs 3 crore and gold ornaments from 14 victims across States. No money was lost by the Hyderabad complainant.
The suspect was earlier arrested by Patiala police and lodged in Central Prison, Patiala.
