Hyderabad Cybercrime police nab fraudster from Delhi in investment fraud case

Police said the victim was approached by the fraudster with an offer to receive huge returns for investments

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Cybercrime police nabbed Neeraj Kumar (30) from Delhi on charges of cheating an investor from the city to the tune of Rs 6.1 lakh by promising high returns to investments on Thursday.

He was involved in 88 cases across India, including seven in Telangana.


Police said the victim was approached by the fraudster with an offer to receive huge returns for investments. Initially, he had invested in small amounts in different bank accounts provided in the application for which they showed some profits.

Believing them to be genuine he deposited huge amounts totaling to Rs 6.1 lakh, but could not withdraw it and was cheated.

In another case, the police arrested D Uma Maheshwar from Sadasivapet for cheating an investor from the city to the tune of Rs 10.5 lakh by promising high daily returns for investments in various schemes, which were suggested by him.
