As part of special operations, police arrested 20 suspects from five states in connection with 13 cybercrime cases and facilitated the refund of Rs 1.59 crore to victims.

Likewise, the Zonal Cyber Cells handled 3,081 NCRP petitions, leading to 276 FIRs and the arrest of four individuals in separate cases and also ensured an additional refund of Rs 95.99 lakh to victims.

The cases solved during the month included 8 cases of gaming fraud, 3 cases of investment fraud, 3 matrimonial frauds, 2 job fraud and 1 impersonation fraud. Among those arrested, the majority were from Telangana, followed by individuals from Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Goa, and Rajasthan.

Police seized Rs 6.5 lakh in cash along with 14 mobile phones, four laptops, nine cheque books, and two shell company stamps during the operations.

Officials said cyber patrol teams identified 129 social media profiles running nearly 500 advertisements promoting illegal online betting and gaming apps.
