Hyderabad: Dancer arrested in sexual harassment case

A dancer who had earlier won a Telugu dance reality show was arrested in Hyderabad after a woman allegedly accused him of sexual harassment. Miyapur police registered a case following her complaint, arrested the suspect and produced him before the court.

Hyderabad: A dancer who had earlier emerged as the winner of a Telugu dance reality show has been arrested in connection with a sexual harassment case registered at Miyapur Police Station.

According to police, a young woman approached the Miyapur police on September 9 and lodged a complaint against the suspect, Raju. She allegedly accused him of sexually harassing her by promising to help her secure opportunities in the film industry.

Based on the complaint, Miyapur police registered a case and took up investigation. During the course of the investigation, police arrested Raju and produced him before the court. The court subsequently remanded him to judicial custody.

The case reportedly remained confidential for several days, with police not disclosing details of the complaint or the arrest immediately. Further investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the allegations.

Police are expected to examine the complainant’s statement and other relevant evidence as part of the investigation.
