Hyderabad: Director of immigration consultancy held for cheating dozens of job visa seekers

The immigration consultancy allegedly collected Rs. 5 lakh from each victim promising job placements in Malta and other countries.

Hyderabad: The Telangana Crime Investigation Department on Wednesday arrested the director of Eagle Expert Immigration Consultancy for allegedly cheating dozens of job aspirants.

According to the police, the arrested person Saroj Shiswant Thorat alias Saroj Bharath Kumar, along with others had cheated 100 persons from Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and other States promising to help them get a job in Malta, an island country in Southern Europe, and collected Rs. 5 lakh from each victim.

Realising that they have been cheated by the consultancy the victims approached the police and lodged a complaint against the director of the firm. Based on a complaint, the local police registered a case and later transferred it to the Crime Investigation Department.

Efforts are on to nab the remaining suspects involved in the case, the police official said.
