A Pochappa, General Secretary of the Hyderabad District Kho-Kho Association, passed away at 62 following a cardiac arrest. He served the association since 2002, worked as a Physical Director and played an active role in movements for physical education teachers

Hyderabad: A Pochappa, General Secretary of the Hyderabad District Kho-Kho Association, passed away here following a cardiac arrest. He was 62.

Pochappa had been serving as the General Secretary of the Hyderabad District Kho-Kho Association since 2002. He also worked for many years as a sports contributor to the Telugu daily Andhra Jyothi. He served as Physical Director at Keshav Memorial High School, Narayanguda, from 2003 to 2022.

As president of the Unemployed Physical Education Teachers’ Association of undivided Andhra Pradesh, he played an active role in several movements for the welfare of physical education teachers. His efforts were instrumental in securing the recruitment of 1,130 Physical Education Teacher (PET) posts across the State in 2002.

His contributions to physical education and sports will be remembered
