Hyderabad: A doctor ended his life by injecting some substance, suspected to be poisonous in nature, in his body with the help of a saline bottle at SR Nagar, the police said here on Sunday.
The man identified as K Raj Kumar (29), a resident of SR Nagar worked at a private hospital in Ameerpet. On Thursday night, Raj Kumar returned home carrying a bottle of saline, a syringe and some unidentified substance in a bag.
“After reaching the house, he injected the poisonous substance into the bottle using the syringe. Later, using the intravenous fluid infusion set, he injected the liquid into his body,” said Inspector S R Nagar police station, K Saidulu.
The doctor then informed his friend over phone that he was feeling unwell. His friend rushed to the house and noticing Raj Kumar with a bottle of saline in a hand, shifted him to a hospital where he passed away while undergoing treatment on Friday morning.
The family members of the doctor who came from West Godavari in Andhra Pradesh told the police that Raj Kumar had slipped into depression over some issues and might have ended his life over it.
A case is registered by the SR Nagar police and investigation going on. The police seized the bottle of saline and other articles from the house along with the mobile phone.
