Hyderabad: Dr Raghu Ram becomes first Indian surgeon elected to RCPSG Governing Council
Dr Raghu Ram, Founding Director of KIMS-Ushalakshmi Centre for Breast Diseases, has become the first and only surgeon from India elected to the Governing Council of the 425-year-old RCPSG. He will represent countries outside the UK for the 2025–2028 term.

Hyderabad: Dr Raghu Ram, Founding Director at KIMS-USHALAKSHMI Centre for Breast Diseases, has become the first and only surgeon from India to be elected onto the apex Governing Council of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow (RCPSG).
This 425-year-old prestigious Institution is one of the oldest and the only Multidisciplinary Royal College in United Kingdom and Ireland that represents surgeons, physicians, dentists, podiatrists and travel-medicine specialists across 97 countries worldwide. The results of the Election to the Executive Board and Governing Council were announced by Prof Hany Eteiba, President RCPSG, during the Annual General Body Meeting (GBM) held at the College in Glasgow on December 5.
As a Governing Council Member for the 2025–2028 term, Dr Raghu Ram will represent the RCPSG across all countries outside the UK. Prof Hany Eteiba, President of RCPSG, said: “A record 26 nominations were received from all over the world and my heartiest congratulations to Dr Raghu Ram on this historic achievement as the first practising surgeon from India to be elected to our College Council.”
