Hyderabad: A car driver who fled with Rs 55 lakh belonging to his employer from Jubilee Hills on Saturday was arrested along with his associate. The police recovered Rs 50 lakh from him.
The arrested persons were N Srinivas Rao (41), of Krishna district in AP, and Muppalla Vijay (54), of Guntur. Another suspect, Rambabu of Khammam, was absconding. According to the police, on September 25, Srinivas Rao collected Rs 55 lakh from his employer at Jubilee Hills and was asked to hand it over to one Lachi Reddy at Kokapet.
“However, he fled with the cash bag to Khammam, where he along with Rambabu and Vijay planned to set up a hotel,” DCP (West) AR Srinivas said. They were nabbed when they returned to the city. Efforts are on to nab Rambabu while the other two were produced before court.
