Hyderabad: EAGLE Force busts drug consumers during DJ Artbat performance in Gachibowli
Telangana police arrested eight individuals for drug use at Quake Arena nightclub in Gachibowli during DJ Artbat’s performance. The EAGLE Force conducted the operation, and arrests are followed by counselling, rehabilitation, and seizure of cocaine, MDMA, LSD, and ganja.
Hyderabad: Eight persons were caught by the Telangana police for drug abuse at an event at Quake Arena night club in Gachibowli, where famous Ukrainian DJ Artbat performed on Saturday night.
On specific information, the EAGLE Force and the Cyberabad police planned and conducted a joint operation on Saturday night at the nightclub. “A total of 14 persons were tested for drug abuse. Of the eight persons who tested positive for using ganja, cocaine, opium and tetrahydrocannabinol,” said an official of EAGLE Force.
The police had information that around 100 consumers would be participating in the event; the team deliberately curtailed the operation to ensure focused, preventive action, added the official.
All those caught will have to appear before the police at the Cyberabad Narcotics Police Station for counselling and will have to get admitted to de-addiction and rehabilitation centres.
In last ten days, the EAGLE Force apprehended 27 drug peddlers, 17 consumers and five foreign women nationals in 17 cases. A total of 68 grams of cocaine, 50.5 grams of MDMA, 2 grams of LSD blots and 381.93 grams of ganja were seized.
