Hyderabad: A three-day online workshop on the theme of ‘Philosophy as a bridge between different disciplines,’ featured a special talk by Prof. Rajendra Dengle at the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU).
The workshop was organised by the Department of Germanic Studies, Faculty of European Languages, EFLU, as part of the intensified multidisciplinary and collaborative academic activity being promoted by the EFLU.
The resource person Rajendra Dengle, a retired professor, who taught at the Centre of German Studies, JNU, New Delhi, talked about the interesting ways in which philosophical concepts and theories connect with the creative products in literature.
The workshop, which concluded with the valedictory was aimed at understanding how philosophical concepts can be used to read literary texts.
Prof. Dengle has also dwelt upon the philosophy of language, literary translation, new media, and literature, which are the areas of his expertise relevant to the theme.
EFLU Vice Chancellor and UGC Member, Prof. E Suresh Kumar mentored the Department of Germanic Studies in organising the three-day workshop aimed at promoting an interdisciplinary approach to languages and literature.
