Hyderabad: Eight students held for public boozing, arguing with police
Osmania University police arrested eight students for abusing officials during a public drinking incident on campus. A scuffle broke out when police objected to the act near Tagore Auditorium. All were granted bail after being produced in court
Hyderabad: The Osmania University police arrested eight students for allegedly abusing the police officials when they objected to public boozing.
The incident took place on Saturday night when a group of students were found consuming liquor near Tagore Auditorium on the campus. On spotting them, the police patrol car approached and asked them to accompany them to the police station.
However, a ruckus broke out at the place, and additional policemen were summoned to the spot. The police, following a complaint from a police constable, registered a case against the eight students and arrested them on Tuesday.
All of them were produced before the court and released on bail.
