Hyderabad: Eight teams for inaugural Hockey Legends Premier League

The tournament will be held by Hockey Hyderabad for a period of three months

Hyderabad: In a bid to popularise hockey in the city and encourage young talent, Hockey Hyderabad will conduct the Hockey Legends Premier League (HLPL) at Gymkhana grounds, according to Kamini Vidya Sagar, secretary, in a press statement on Monday.

The tournament will be held for a period of three months.


Eight teams will participate in HLPL in the names of legends like Mukesh Kumar, Dilip Tirkey, Somayya, late Mohd Shahid, Pargat Sngh, Zafar Iqbal, Dhanraj Pillay and Bhaskaran.

About 200 players will be in action and there will be 28 league and six super league matches.
