Hyderabad: A septuagenarian died after the scooter he was riding was hit by a truck at Nagaram in Keesara on Friday. The victim was identified as S Ram Reddy (71), an agriculturist from Ramalingeshwara Colony in Nagaram.

Police said the accident took place at 1 pm, when Ram Reddy was returning to Nagaram from Kareemguda. When he reached near Vishal Mart in Nagaram, the truck hit his scooter from behind. “He fell on the road and suffered head injuries and died. A local resident identified the victim and informed his son and also alerted us,” police said, adding that the truck driver went absconding after the incident.

Based on the complaint from the victim’s son Venkat Reddy, the Keesara police booked a case of negligence causing death and took up investigation.
