Hyderabad: Elderly woman found dead in tenant’s bathroom

The victim, identified as Mangatayaru, was killed, allegedly by Suresh, who lived in a rented portion of her house. The reason is yet to be known, police said, adding that it was yet to be known when she was murdered.

Hyderabad: A 72-year-old woman was murdered and her body concealed in the bathroom, allegedly by her tenant at Hasmathpet in Alwal, police said here on Thursday.

The victim, identified as Mangatayaru, was killed, allegedly by Suresh, who lived in a rented portion of her house. The reason is yet to be known, police said, adding that it was yet to be known when she was murdered.

Suresh, after killing Mangatayaru, concealed her body in his bathroom. As she was missing, her family members lodged a police complaint on Wednesday evening. The police, while searching for her, also searched Suresh’s house and recovered the body in the night. She had external injuries, police said.

Suresh was taken into custody and is being questioned. The body was shifted to the hospital for autopsy.
