Hyderabad: On the pretext of searching for a rented house, unidentified persons robbed an elderly woman of gold chain at LB Nagar on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the police, A Rajalakshmi (68), a resident of Hastinapuram in LB Nagar wanted to rent out a portion in her house and hung a To Let board on the gate.

“Two persons came to the house and enquired with the woman about the house rent. On the pretext of having a look at the flat they entered into the house and snatched away a gold chain weighing three tolas worn by the victim,” said the LB Nagar police.

Based on a complaint, the police booked a case and launched efforts to track down the offenders.
