Hyderabad: Elderly woman robbed of gold chain by bikers in Hayathnagar

An elderly woman was robbed of her gold chain by two bike-borne men at Hayathnagar on Wednesday morning. The suspects approached her asking for directions and fled after snatching the chain. Police are scanning CCTV footage to trace the culprits.

Hyderabad: A chain snatcher targeted an elderly woman and escaped with her gold chain at Hayathnagar on the city outskirts on Wednesday morning.

The victim, identified as Lakshmamma (65), was reportedly sitting on the sit-out in front of her house, when two unidentified persons, one of them wearing a helmet came on a motorcycle.

Police said they enquired her about directions to an address and snatched her gold chain weighing 2 tolas. By the time she realised what had happened and raised an alarm, the offenders escaped into the bylanes.

The Hayathnagar police were examining the footage from the surveillance cameras in the surroundings to identify and nab the suspects.
